About Me
Steve Hearnshaw is MD of PaperBoat Insight.
Way back when, I started my career as a research associate at Leicester University, working in collaboration with the Suzy Lamplugh Trust on a major nationwide project to understand and tackle violence in schools.
My next role was research manager at Anchor Trust where I published numerous papers on improving older peoples' experience in residential care.
From there I moved to Barclaycard, and so my adventures within the financial services industry began! After three years working on a range of qual and quant projects (some of which featured Angus Deayton and prawn sandwiches) I was promoted to head of Competitor Intelligence for the brand.
In 2005 I was head-hunted by GE Money into a new customer insight role. Here my focus was NPS and regulatory requirements, specifically TCF. A genuinely lovely bunch of people I worked with, at Agar Street in Covent Garden, helping drive customer-centric cultural change throughout GE's UK business and beyond.
In 2009 I moved to the South West, became self-employed, and ever since have worked for an interesting range of clients around the world through challenging, changing times.
At the end of 2021 I am especially proud to be working with AACE, an organisation dedicated to supporting the UK's ambulance service.
